Have you ever decided to go all in for something? Maybe it was when you chose a profession or a partner. Perhaps you made the exciting but terrifying decision to become a homeowner. Maybe it was when you joined your current congregation, or, if you came to faith later in life, when you decided to be baptized. When it comes to our faith, Jesus shows what it is like to be all in for the reign of God. It means being fully invested, deeply committed. There are no backup options. Everything is on the line. Before we can go all in, though, God shows us the way. God knows that going all in for this beautiful broken world is a challenge, so God goes all in on our behalf first, revealing what it is like to bet it all on love. God tends broken relationships.
God goes all in on all the highs and lows that life brings, from moments of transcendent beauty to the deepest hopelessness. And in Jesus, God pours out every last drop of love, all of it for the sake of a world that may never fully understand. This Lent, God is all in for us. Let’s go all in for God’s love, too.

You’re Invited to Go All In during Lent with Together by Grace: Bible Conversations using the Book of Matthew. We are offering the same study at two different times.
Together by Grace: Bible Conversations invite participants to gather together, dwell in the stories of the Bible in the book of Matthew, and engage with the text and one another through 8 sessions.
With guided conversations and open-ended questions, everyone is invited to share thoughts, experiences, and similarities in these roundtable discussions that approach biblical stories honestly, wrestle with tough questions, and build community.
Thursday, February 12
1-3 p.m. or 6-7 p.m.
“Sacred Spaces” during Lent includes an opportunity for individual confession & forgiveness.
The “sacred space” will be set up in Grace Place. Each person will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Pastor Laura or Vicar Madelyn.
You may plan to arrive anytime during the two-hour window, and you are welcome to leave after you are finished visiting and praying.
All men in the community are invited to come enjoy a delicious breakfast at 7 a.m. on the following Saturday mornings during Lent. A free-will donation is collected at each breakfast.
Please contact Jeff Kunkel or Gregg McCarty if you would like to volunteer to help set up, prep and service the Lenten breakfast here at First Lutheran on February 28!
