Thank you to all who have participated in our summer program, Partners in Mission. Over
the first ten weeks of summer, our Noisy Offering has totaled $1,573.84 to benefit ten different ministry partners, plus additional gifts from many of you! We have also been able to raise
awareness of remarkable ministry happening locally and globally.
In August, we will learn more about and support these ministries:
August 4 & 5 — Abilities Plus
August 11 & 12 — Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry
August 18 & 19 — Arcot Lutheran Synod
August 25 & 26 — Racial Justice Ministries
Continue bringing your coins to church each weekend for the noisy offering to support our Partners
in Mission. Stop by the bulletin board in the Fellowship Room and see how we are connected with our partners all over the world!
Students and Teachers
It’s almost time for a brand new school year – plan to start the year with God’s blessings surrounding you!
At both services on Sunday, August 19, we will offer Back-to-School Blessings. Students, bring your backpack
to church that day. We will also offer a blessing for teachers, aides, administrators, bus drivers, support staff,
and all others who work in the school system.
Mark your Calendar!
On Sunday, September 2, we will worship at 9:15 a.m. The style of worship is yet to be determined,

Informal Worship on Saturday, September 1 is at 5:30 p.m.

First Lutheran offers three distinct worship experiences each weekend:
Saturday 5:30 p.m. Informal Worship in Fellowship Room--
A simple worship experience with spoken word and piano music. Communion is offered weekly.
Sunday 8:30 a.m. Traditional Worship--
A formal worship experience with liturgy and music of the Lutheran tradition. Communion is offered weekly.
Sunday 10:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship & Children's Church--
An upbeat worship experience with contemporary Christian music led by praise teams. Communion is offered weekly. Children ages 3 through grade 2 attend Children's Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Our weekly messages are designed to help you better understand the Bible and God's words for today's world. We welcome all who believe to recieve Holy Communion. Children and those who have not yet received Communion instruction are invited to receive a blessing.
Children are welcome! Children are welcome in worship at First, where a special children’s message is presented every week to help our youngest worshippers understand and live God's words for them. While all children are always welcome, a staffed nursery is provided on Sundays for small children who find it difficult to sit for long periods of time and whose parents desire childcare during worship.
First is handicapped-accessible and we welcome people of all abilities at every worship service and ministry event.
Baptisms are celebrated at First for persons of all ages. To schedule a baptism please contact the Pastor or the church office.
Weddings at First are a joyous occasion! To schedule a wedding or inquire about wedding policies and procedures please contact the church office.
