Thanksgiving Eve Worship at First

Please come and join us for Thanksgiving Eve worship on Wednesday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. This is a wonderful time for the people of First to come together in one service and praise God for our many blessings.

Our Youth Bell Choir and a Family Choir will help lead worship. Join us for fellowship afterward as we share pie

and ice cream. This will be a joyful event!
During the month of November, we invite you to participate in our “27 Days of Thanksgiving” food drive
for the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry.

Advent Devotionals

The season of Advent begins on the weekend of November 30 & December 1. Advent is a time of preparation for Christ’s coming at Christmas. During the busy-ness of the holiday season commercially, in the church year, these weeks are a time

of reflection, anticipation, and watching for Christ. This year, the Spirituality & Wellness Ministry is providing some Advent devotional resources. Families with elementary kids will receive a pack of Daily Trivia Cards, “What do I Wonder about this Advent?” and all families are welcome to pick up a copy of the family devotional “Wonders of His Love.” For adults in the congregation, we have a devotional based on the writings of C.S Lewis, “Peace, Hope & Light.” These resources will be available in the Fellowship Room beginning Wednesday, November 20.

First Lutheran offers three distinct worship experiences each weekend:

Saturday 5:30 p.m. Informal Worship in Fellowship Room--
A simple worship experience with spoken word and piano music. Communion is offered weekly.

Sunday 8:15 a.m. Traditional Worship--
A formal worship experience with liturgy and music of the Lutheran tradition. Communion is offered weekly.

Sunday 10:30 a.m. Contemporary Worship--
An upbeat worship experience with contemporary Christian music led by praise teams. Communion is offered weekly.

Children are welcome! Children are welcome in worship at First, where a special children’s message is presented every week
to help our youngest worshippers understand and live God's words for them. While all children are always welcome, a staffed

nursery is provided on Sundays for small children who find it difficult to sit for long periods of time and whose parents desire childcare during worship.

First is handicapped-accessible and we welcome people of all abilities at every worship service and ministry event.

Baptisms are celebrated at First for persons of all ages. To schedule a baptism please contact the Pastor or the church office.

Weddings at First are a joyous occasion! To schedule a wedding or inquire about wedding policies and procedures please
contact the church office.
